This is an advanced course that should be of interest to anyone wishing to explore the theme "spaces in between".
Tense suspension, uncertainty, pause—the space in between hints, connects, creates meaning. Clearly, the concept of "in-between space" is central to a multi-part sculpture. This space becomes an independent form, a meaningful gap.
In working on our own sculpture, we will focus on these in-between spaces. Through them, various parts of the work are put into relation, spatially interconnected, and interpreted.
Whether in a single sculpture or a multi-part design, shaping the in-between space is challenging, and its effect is complex.
Alongside professional guidance in the development and realization of individual ideas, we will delve deeper into this theme with examples from art history.
Prerequisite for the course: Good stone sculpting skills (must have completed an introductory as well as a basic skills course) and a love for three-dimensional form.
The course language is German
