Wood is a very versatile medium, and there are many different techniques that can be employed when working with wood. On the last, and very successful, courses it became clear that the chainsaw is the favourite of all wood sculpting tools. The most up-to-date chainsaws are very light, and user-friendly.
With the chainsaw, figures can be made in various ways, whether abstract or showing great detail, small or inordinately large. What's more, working with chainsaws is great fun. We work only with tools and protective clothing that meet the most up-to-date safety standards. Each course participant is free to work in his/her own way. The theme can be discussed with the course tutor who also likes to give his/her artistic and technical support.
Materialcosts:
Cedar wood trunks: 160 cm length up to approximately 40-50cm in diameter is always ready at hand on the premises.
Costs for the trunk: CHF 210 to CHF 220
Additional costs for electricity, oil and motomix: flat rate CHF 80
These costs will be paid in cash on site.
For each participant are available: 1 Stihl electric saw and, if required, for all participants approx. 8 Stihl petrol chainsaws with swords of different lengths, 1 pair of cut protection trousers, 1 safety helmet with visor and ear protection.
The course language is German, but the tutor also speaks English.
