Alex Naef

Born in 1954. Third-generation sculptor. Studied art education, art therapy and cultur management. Co-owner and Co-Director (President) of the Scuola di Scultura di Peccia.

Trained as a sculptor from 1971-75.From 1976-77 he attended sculpture classes in Lucerne. 1981-82: He received 1st prize for sculpture work from Baronne Edmonde de Rothschild in Geneva.1982: Own sculpture "Aggregate" displayed in the art museum in Berne.1983-87: Studied art therapy and -education in Ottersberg/Bremen. Diploma. Since 1987 he has been developing and directing the Scuola di Scultura in Peccia.1991: Completed own sculpture "Guardiano", made for the IHP in Eschweiler.1996-98: Was commissioned to construct the fountain "Wassertor" (The Water Gate) in Berlin-Weissensee. 2004 Sculptures "Lamusir" and "Ovaloid" Albergo Belvedere - Locarno. 2004-2005 /2010-2012 he is studying "Kulturmanagement" at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Lucerne. 2013 MAS HSLU "Kulturmanagement Praxis", Luzern.  2011 Co-editor of the book "Marmor macht Schule, vom Werden und Wirken der Bildhauerschule von Peccia", published by Hauptverlag, Bern, Stuttgart, Vienna. 2017 Commission and execution "Acquamorfosi", Caserma dei pompieri, Maggia.

2011 - 2019 Managing Director of the Fondazione Internazionale per la Scultura. Since 2021 Member of the Board of Trustees of the Fondazione Internazionale per la Scultura. See also: www.centroscultura.ch
