"The Portrait"
This course offers the opportunity for a close study of the head, with a number of models at your disposal. On the first day we will devote some time to the study of postures and proportions, and to the technical preparations of the armature (supporting structure). The aim is to produce a life-like portrait study.
Formal and stylistic issues can be suggested and discussed. A good source of inspiration is the study of the images of works by renowned sculptors. We will work with clay using the solid modelling technique. Casting is not a part of the course. However, it is possible to produce a plaster cast of your portrait in your own spare time. In order to document your portraits we suggest you bring a camera.
A basic knowledge of sculpting, and experience of working with clay, are a good prerequisite for this course.
There will be an additional charge of CHF 40.- per person for the model.
Language of the course is german, the teacher speeks also french and english.
Individual portaits can be cast in the silicone casting course.
